About Me

I am currently a freelance UI/UX and visual designer.

I believe that a good design is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also provides affordance that matches users’ expectations and behavior patterns. As a professional architect, I designed art center, dormitory and public school that incorporated my design philosophies.

I extended my interest in design from physical spaces to digital media in my master thesis, in which I discovered architectural metaphors in text-based online environments through protocol analysis of user behaviors. In my PhD years, I have participated in several research projects and developed the ability to perform design from the initial stage of conception to usability test.

My PhD. dissertation, titled "Social Interactions in Computer-mediated Public Spaces," uses multiple techniques, such as observations, surveys and interviews, to explore behavioral patterns in both physical and virtual public spaces. The outcome of the thesis provides both spatial designers and the developers of digital technologies with a better understanding of digitally mediated social behaviors and solid design suggestions.

I am interested in UI/UX or spatial design jobs. I am eager to contribute my experiences in design and research to the field of digital media.
